Hey gang!
Thanks for recognizing us in the podcast this week; we’re flattered.
FL is a bit different in that you don’t need to get a separate license to fost-adopt–because in FL, you either adopt straight from the foster system or foster only with the intent to adopt, but then the adoption process occurs after the parental rights are terminated and the child is officially put up for adoption. At that point, the state treats it as a straight-adopt, but the foster parents have “first dibs” after relations, if that makes sense. We are going that route.
Great podcast as usual, and I sure hope “Amanda” feels better! No fun being sick, especially when you’re a kid. ;(

I am VERY interested in foster care and adoption and found your podcast - I am working on catching up, but am really enjoying it. My husband unfortunately has not joined me in my desire to help these children. Do you have any suggestions or comments on this scenario?

Hey guys,
Well, I’ve introduced you to my hubby and we listened to the first fourteen episodes today! We had to make a trip to complete fingerprints for our international adoption (yeah, trying two adoption processes at once is a little insane, we’ve decided!), so it was the perfect excuse to get more insights on how to approach this crazy life of foster care! Thanks for all of your insights and encouragement. God really used what you shared in Episode 4 to give me the proper perspective on our little guy’s hearing tomorrow…and I am at peace, for the first time in months! We are looking forward to our next Foster Parenting Podcast marathon.
